Respect?December 6, 2011 3:10 am
Yes, we are #3 in nation right now but I've read a few comments from people basically anointing UK and UNC 1-2 in the country and untouchable. Really? UNC and UK played a classic last weekend for sure - but UNC was outplayed by UNLV just 10 days ago... and UK is NOT very deep, only going 6-deep in real games. Call me crazy, but Cuse's depth, balance and experience would match them up well with both those teams head-to-head.. File this one away. Category: NCAAB Big East CampionshipMarch 11, 2011 9:49 am
'Cuse looked a bit sluggish but was able to avoid a loss last night to the Johnny's who are going to be a force come the Tournament. However, lets just hope tonight against UConn doesn't bring about another marathon game. If SU can shut down Kemba Walker early, they will win this. He is there only real force especially with the young guys UConn has on their team. If the freshman for UConn get out of the game early as well as Kemba it's a 'Cuse win!!! Impressive Young Squad!January 19, 2011 4:26 pm
As a huge fan of Cuse hoops, I must admit that I was a little uncertain about this team going into this season just because of amount of young raw talent we had coming in. However after watching them up to this point I have been nothing but impressed. Rick Jackson has truly developed into a dominant force in the paint, and our slew of young talent has shown quite a bit of maturity and resilience. They have avoided the late-game collapses that we know all too well as fans of the Orange over the years, and have responded to adversity during games. Their loss to Pitt the other night on the road was respectable considering the early 19-0 deficit and how they immediately responded with a 17-0 run of their own to climb right back into it. They then fought hard all the way down the stretch and fell JUST short. Overall, we are a favorite to win the Big East this year and I look forward to seeing the continued development of this squad and watching them make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.
